As a child, I was always dog crazy. Read all the dog books I could get my hands on and dreamed about going to Westminster someday. However, my dream of having a real live dog had to wait, since we lived in an apartment in the city. In the meantime, I collected stuffed dogs (most notably "Lassie" and "Sparky") that I would drag around on leashes.

When I moved to Colorado, I began running and hiking and wanted an athletic breed that did not require a lot of grooming. After deciding on Dalmatians and researching the breed, I contacted Beth and Jack White in 1982 to purchase my first show dog. The plan was to get a black and white male, but we brought home a liver and white female - the start of a long love affair with livers. Erin was my first show dog and obedience dog and patiently put up with my novice fumbles! Of course, now the show bug had bitten me, so our next Dal was Cody, Ch Melody Mtn Music of Croatia CD, my first Champion, owner handled; what a thrill! Then came Cody's daughter, Abbie, and Erin's daughter, Katy, who became the two foundation bitches of Cimarron Dalmatians. Abbie passed on last year at 15, but Katy is still enjoying life - albeit not getting around like she used to - just having had her 15th birthday in June 2001.

My newest puppy, Kit, is the spitting image of her great-grandmother Katy at her age - my "Souvenir".

All of the dogs I have produced are down from one or both of those two girls. Abbie is the dam of BISS Ch Cimarron PeachBlossom Honey OA OAJ CGC, a DCA AOM winner. Katy is the dam of Multi CH Cimarron Moonshine Whiskey RD, CGC, Am/Can CD, 1999 World Dog Show BOB & Group placer.

My #1 priority has been to produce sound, healthy, sweet tempered and beautiful Dalmatians that are family dogs as well as show dogs. Performance titles are just as important as Conformation titles to me. I don't do a lot of breeding and each litter is carefully planned. I do all health checks and temperament test each pup before placement. Older dogs or retired Champions are occasionally available; as well as puppy referrals. My dogs go traveling, hiking, biking, running and even cross country skiing with me and are a big part of my life.
