The Greater Denver Dalmatian Club was founded in 1989 by a group of Dalmatian enthusiasts who had shown dogs together for many years, and had even organized a National Specialty in 1987. At that point, the group decided it was time to organize into an AKC recognized club. Since then, the club has grown and today includes members from all over the country who are interested in every aspect of the Dalmatian fancy, including conformation, obedience, tracking, agility, road trial, rescue, and therapy work. GDDC members collectively have well over 100 years of experience raising Dalmatians.

In 1999, the GDDC hosted another National Specialty, and we hold our own Specialty every August in conjunction with the Greeley shows. In 2005, we will again hold back-to-back Specialties at the August Greeley shows. In addition, we usually have several fun matches over the course of the year as well as various seminars and educational sessions. But it's not all work - the Christmas party in December, the Awards banquet in March, and the Club picnic in July are a few of the events we plan every year just to have fun.

Membership is open to anyone interested in Dalmatians - you don't need to have a show dog, or even own a Dalmatian! We have junior memberships for those under 18, and encourage youngsters to get involved. Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at the Brighton Police community center at 7:30pm. Occasionally the meeting date and location may change for special events, so check the calendar for the next meeting date and location.
